Inspired Style: Beach Cruiser Chic

In a nod to #WeddingWednesday, I thought I'd share with you my fabulous wedding gift from my very clever husband (well, my very clever husband who is also very good at taking hints).  Being that after our nuptials, we'd be relocating beachside, I couldn't imagine making the move without a beach cruiser at my disposal.  After the wedding and the honeymoon, I arrived home to find this is my garage:

As you can see, most of my rides are more than casual, but in my more glamorous life, this is how I'd cruise the sandy shores:

Wedding Wednesday: Single Digit Countdown

Happy Wedding Wednesday! LAS and I are a mere 9 days from Wedding Day!! I can barely believe it.  This is my last week of work until we return from our honeymoon, so I'm a busy bee fitting in lots of last minute things before it's all wedding, all the time next week.

All the details are coming along nicely and I'm looking froward to focusing on wedding fun next week and finally ending all the planning!

One thing I do want to do this weekend is make a burlap banner to hang on our gift/guest book table...mum's the word on what it will say but it'll look a little something like this:

Wedding Wednesday: Moss Letter DIY

Happy Wedding Wednesday--there are officially 23 days until our wedding!! AHHH! I can't believe it is so soon,  it seemed like we would never get to this point.  I also can't believe I'm finally sharing this DIY project with you...I've been waiting until we got closer to the wedding as I didn't want the letter to "wear out" before the big day.

So far I've only done the L, I'll do a B as well and hang them both on the church doors with ribbon and then transfer them to the reception site.  Making the L was incredibly easy and I documented all the steps for you guys! As I finished I sprayed the whole letter with some hairspray (Sebastian--only the good stuff right?!) to "set" it.  I think these are great for a wedding or even for the front door of your home! So get crafting!

Things have been tres busy around here and here is a glimpse of what we've been up to including celebrating Mr. Q's birthday with ABQ and friends, visiting the Mouse at the most wonderful time of the year, and commemorating LAS's grad school graduation!

Wedding Wednesday: Family Couple Shower!

This past weekend my family and I headed up to Thomasville, GA for a family shower thrown by my aunts to include grandparents, aunts, uncles, moms, dads--everyone! We were so excited to see family and friends and celebrate with everyone.

One of my aunts gave me an especially sweet gift.  My mom's mother passed away before I was born and I've always grown up hearing stories about how lovely she was.  At the shower, my aunt (my dad's sister) told the story of how on my parent's wedding day, my grandmother lent her a handkerchief  to clean my cousin's face off with.  My aunt tried to give it back but my grandmother told her to keep it, which my aunt took to mean, return it after you've cleaned and my grandmother, said "no, you just hang on to it."  Over the years, the handkerchief would pop up in moves, etc. and my aunt made sure to keep it safe.  On Saturday, she gave it to me to carry on my wedding day, to have a special piece of my grandmother with me.  It was such a sweet moment and one I will never forget.  I can't wait to carry the handkerchief and pass it on to my sister and my two cousins on their wedding days.

Now for the pictures!

Wedding Wednesday: Showers and Updates!

We have 120 days until Wedding Day and I can't believe it...for some reason it seems SO close!  There's lots to do as you can probably imagine.

This Sunday is my first shower and I could not be more excited, I keep saying that I can't believe I'm going to a shower and it's going to be for me!

In two weeks, LAS' mom and sisters are throwing me another shower and the invitations came in the mail this week! They are super cute with their recipe card motif...LAS' mom requested everyone bring a recipe for me and I'm so excited, because I know those ladies will have some yummy dishes to share!

I'm sure I'll have lots of fun shower pictures to share next Wednesday!

Updates: All our invitations are printed, cut and waiting to be put together; My bridesmaids' gifts are coming right along; ABQ designed and printed our wedding thank yous and I'm obsessed--think LAS and EHK drawn in our fancy wedding day duds with a cameo from Stella; DIY projects still going on, including moss letters, burlap runners and signs for various wedding things

Wedding Wednesday: Updates!

129 Days until Wedding Day!

Because I'm a crazy person and did massive amounts of planning right after we got engaged the second half of summer and early fall resulted in a bit of a wedding planning lull, because quite honestly, there just wasn't that much to do. But it's now time to get back into full swing!  Here's what I've been working on:
  • My sweet future MIL is stitching our table runners and I got our first batch back from her and they're perfect! I bought a 20 yard bolt of fabric for the rest last weekend, hoping that will be enough for the rest!
  • ABQ is printing our invitations as I type and I could not be more in love with our invitations if I tried....seriously, her work is beyond!
  • We met with our florist last week to finalize the flowers and arrangements for the reception.  I love our florist--she totally gets me and my vision and that makes everything easy peasy.
  • I shared a photo of my shoes here.  And the first pair came in with some spotting, not huge stains but come on, they are my wedding shoes, so they need to be perfectly clean.  The second pair came in and the same thing happened!! I'm giving Nina Shoes, one last shot because I really love the shoe and they aren't expensive and they're a good height and I really want them to work....so Nina Shoes, if you are reading, send a flawless pair of these my way OK?
  • Next up....DIY Moss Letters, ordering my veil, and having monogrammed sashes made for my flower girls!
Happy Wednesday!

Wedding Wednesday: DIY and Collecting

Good Morning!

At this point in our wedding planning (164 days to go), I like to say I'm "collecting things."  With all our vendors secured and many of those large decisions made, I'm in the land of collecting and making copious lists.  As I've shared with you before, Mason jars and milk glass are two stars of our reception show.  So I thought I'd share the pile with you (which is a small sample since most of the milk glass is at LAS' parents house).

mason jars, mugs, milk glass, burlap...the gang's all here!

I also picked up some materials on Monday for a DIY that will probably have to wait until a little closer to the big day.  Anyone make moss covered letters for their wedding? How do they hold up?

Wedding Wednesday

Happy Wedding Wednesday! Only 170 days until our wedding--can't believe it is just around the corner!!

This past week we started our pre-marital counseling, tried on wedding bands and picked out LAS' tux.  Thanks for all your advice on the whole Navy and Black thing. Although I initially wanted the dark grey, we ultimately decided on black for the boys.  LAS really like the classic black tux with a long tie.  Truthfully, the dark grey wasn't very different, (we would have had to lighten up to a medium to light grey to really get any constrast.) and I think LAS and I will look best together if he's in the black.  So there you go!

Our engagement photos are a week and a half away and I'm really excited! I'm still a little fuzzy on what to wear exactly so any suggestions are welcome! Out shoot will be at the beach, a special place to us: Where we met, fell in love and got engaged (insert eye roll or sweet aws here).  I was originally thinking white short and a linen button down in navy for me with LAS in khaki shorts with either a navy and cream check button down or cream linen button down.  Not sure how comfy I am with being photographed in shorts but I need to try on the whole look and decide!

Wedding Wednesday wouldn't be complete without a shout out to my favorite newly engaged couple! Ky from Have Your Cake and Eat it Too, bridesmaid and instant friend since she was a freshman in high school, is recently engaged to Bobbus!  This couple is so special to me and LAS as we've all been friends for quite some time.  We are so thrilled for them and can't wait to celebrate their marriage in the coming year! Congratulations guys, we love you!

If you made it to the end of this post, bless your heart! Have a great Wednesday!

Wedding Wednesday: Save the Dates

Some of you may have seen these yesterday on the Ashley Brooke Designs blog, but I couldn't very well post such a key piece of wedding paraphernalia on Tuesday, when it was so perfect for Wedding Wednesday!
Ashley has done such an amazing job on all of our wedding paper and the Save the Dates set exactly the right tone for what our guests can expect for our invitations and our wedding!  I'm so fortunate to not only have Ashley as my stationer and employer but as a BFF as well, she is such an exceptional friend.  Thanks for all your hard work Ash! xoxo.

Wedding Wednesday: Place Cards

Good Morning Beauties!

Happy Wedding Wednesday!  LAS and I will tie the knot 191 days from today--SO excited!  We are having a cocktail style reception so we really have no need for place cards.  But I tucked this photo in my wedding folder long ago and I think it's a great piece of inspiration for those of you who need a way to display place cards or escort cards.

I love the use of fresh fruit in floral and decor for a wedding and you could easily substitute an apple, lemon or lime for these clementines!

Have a great Wednesday!
