memorial day weekend!

hi girls!!

I hope each and every one of you had a wonderful weekend. I had a great one and I am so grateful for fun times with family and friends. Saturday I went the see Lukey and I got to see the newly engaged Ashley Brooke, who is radiating bridal bliss. Sunday was church and the Magic Game (woo!). On Monday, me and the fam went to the outlets to score a few deals and boy did we succeed! Look at the lot I picked up at the J.Crew outlet:

solid white tank, pink ruffle tank

critter shorts! those are pink whales people :)
grey trouserswhite polo with seahorse collar

I also scored a pair of critter shorts for Lukey (grey with skulls and crossbones). Now its back to job hunting and working at primrose. I didn't work today so I had lunch Luke, which was grand and then later in the afternoon I booked my flight to MD!! I get to spend 5 days with my bff S and we are going to an O's game...ahh! So excited, can't wait!

I can't recap Memorial Day weekend without acknowledging the countless sacrifices made time and again by the bravest men and women in our fine country. Thank you.

Organizational Tip from Me to You

Do you hate having all the cords for computer, etc. in a total mess? My desk is small and I tend to take my laptop to other parts of my house often, so my battery cord, my printer cord, etc. were always on the floor, as was my cell phone charger.

Voila! Instant anti-anxiety remedy-haha. The cords are still accessible but no longer an eye-sore!

I'm looking to work on the surface of my desk and the wall space above, maybe I'll have something to share soon!

What does everyone think of the new header and colors on the blog?

Why hello there...

Helloooo:

Just letting you know I am alive and well. Not too much going on--just super busy at The Primrose Shop helping people find the perfect graduation gifts! Still no word on a full time job but I'm still scouring job boards and talking to contacts, working on finding something.

The fam and I are heading to GA this weekend to see my twin cousins graduate from high school which should be a fun family outing. Sadly, bf Lukey will not be joining us as he is taking the GMAT on Saturday. Say a little prayer around 4:30 girls--he's been studying his brains out and I know he is prepared but it never hurts to pray right?

Tonight is the last night to sign up for my Not Soap, Radio bronzer palette giveaway! Don't delay--its the perfect palette to take you from spring to summer.

Not Soap Radio

I had the pleasure of trying out some of the great products sold by Not Soap, Radio this past week and there is much to love ladies, much to love. I tried the talk smart lip gloss in Greta and the stuff is fabulous. One of my huge beauty pet peeves is sticky gloss--and this stuff is far from sticky, its perfectly smooth and nice and moisturizing. Then there were the beauty products...."I'm not really here, I'm at the spa." There's the body souffle which is some of the richest body cream I've ever tried and the dry oil perfume spray is a great way to refresh during the day.Next up was the "I'm not really here, I'm on the red carpet" face palette. It has awesome eye shadows, lip glosses and a dual color blush. The eye shadows are really pretty and blend together for a beautiful look.
Then there was the bath/shower bubbles. I tried the stress relief which was great and in the bathtub I can say that a little went a long way in bubbling up the tub :)

To cut or not to cut?

OK beauties! Miss M is in dire need of a haircut and it is time to decide--trim or something more significant?

Here is the hair now:

Should I just shape it up, give it a trim or something more drastic? Something like this:
I want your input...and if you have any great pics of cute hairstyles--email me!

Wedding Recap!

Two dear friends got married this weekend and Sunday's wedding festivities were a blasty-blast. First of all, here is the gift I got the newlyweds (I made and applied the decal monogram, natch):

The ceremony and reception were held on the the rooftop of a downtown high-rise, which afforded brilliant views of "the city beautiful" We ate great food and danced the night away--it was the perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Here's a few more pictures for your viewing pleasure ;)
Cocktail Hour w/ the girls...including Ashley Brooke from Ashley Brooke Designs

The boys w/ the beautiful bride

The cutting of the cupcake

Sparkler send-off!

Happy Monday!

Cold Essentials

Since I seem to have caught my second cold in the past month (I blame it on my love for children, teaching sunday school and my penchant for babysitting as a way to make some extra cash), I've decided to share some cold essentials with you this morning.

1. Puffs w/ vicks: Like a spa treatment for your nose every time you sneeze. WARNING: the vicks smell is strong so if you aren't a fan, be forewarned. 2. The Neti-Pot: This little gem naturally flushes out your nose. Pour the spout into one side of your nose and let gravity do the rest.3. Fluids: LOTS of water and LOTS of hot tea. Does wonders for me!

Here's to your health!
