Soliciting Advice

Good Morning!

Now that I am well into my second official week as someone who works from home, I thought I'd reach out to the blogosphere for a little advice!  So my fellow, work from home-ers, what are your best tips and tricks for staying focused and being productive?  I'm a pretty organized and on task person, but there's always more to learn, and who better to ask, than you my readers?  So let me have it. What is your best advice?

xoxo,

My father works from home. He as a completely separate workspace that he uses for work only. He gets up and dresses like anyone would who goes into a "normal" office, never have I seen him working in his PJ's. Then he goes into his office and shuts the door and works a normal day, often longer since he doesn't have to commute.
I think a designated space, with no TV would be key for me :)

I do not work from home now, but have in the past. I would get up take a shower, get dressed and go to my "office". I only did "real" work in my office. I kept that space just for work. That helped keep me focused and working. Hope that helps.

I agree wholeheartedly with the previous comments. Treat your work space as your work space - regardless of location. Show up for work just as you would a normal job. If you look good, you feel good and you work good! Depending on the amount of space, try to separate work from home as much as possible, so you are able to "get away" when you need to.

Make a to-do list and check things off as you go! Oh, and try not to get sucked into spending too much time on the internet! It is so hard to stay off of blogger with all of the fun and fab reads out there!
