Swoon-Worthy Friday: Italian I Dos

LAS and my's wedding photographers are cool and edgy; kind and talented; and now Mr. and Mrs.  They actually tied the knot a couple of weeks ago here at home but have since traveled to Europe for a honeymoon/private wedding ceremony of their own in Italy (among other places).  A few photos from their recent vow exchange in a castle. on a cliff. were posted yesterday and they are truly breathtaking.  Here's one of my favorites:

Cheers to Becka + Nate, aka The Robinsons.

Wedding Wednesday: Bridal Shower #1

This past weekend was my first bridal shower and it could not have been more lovely! ABQ, Ky, and their mom, Momma D through me the most beautiful shower!  It was pretty,  the food was yummy and everyone had a great time! My bffs SLB and ABQ cooked up a little surprise and had SLB make a Skype appearance at the shower! She couldn't fly in the for shower so she figured this was the next best thing--it was perfect, I was so touched she thought to do that and was THRILLED she was able to be a part of the fun!  Enjoy the photos:

Monday, Monday

Good Morning!

Just a quick hello--this past weekend was lovely.  LAS is done with the FAR section of the CPA--PTL!!  I had my first bridal shower and I had THE best time: ABQ, Ky and Momma D went above and beyond to make my day special and I'm so appreciative for all their hard work.  Wedding Wednesday will feature a full re-cap on the big event, so stay tuned!

I hope you guys have a lovely start to the week, since we are in height of apple season (honeycrisps, pink ladys, be still my heart) here's a quick and easy Apple Crumb Pie recipe...I love the idea of a crumb topping in place of the traditional double crust!

New Name, New URL, Same Sweet Blog

Good Morning!!

This morning we are officially publishing on heavenstobetsyblog.com!  After much thought, I shared with you in this post that our beloved Miss Monogram would become Heavens to Betsy, to better reflect me and the things I want to blog about.

The changes have been made and we are up and running!! Thanks to all of you who left sweet comments regarding the name change and new URL, particularly TP from The Preppy Princess, who said she'd follow me anywhere...I think I'm still *blushing*!

So get excited for some fresh, new content--I've got some fun new features up my sleeve and do be so kind as to spread the word to other readers and maybe even some new ones!  And don't forget to update your google reader with our new URL: http://heavenstobetsyblog.com.

xoxo,
bets

PS: LAS takes the FAR portion of the CPA tomorrow--prayers please!!

Wedding Wednesday: Showers and Updates!

We have 120 days until Wedding Day and I can't believe it...for some reason it seems SO close!  There's lots to do as you can probably imagine.

This Sunday is my first shower and I could not be more excited, I keep saying that I can't believe I'm going to a shower and it's going to be for me!

In two weeks, LAS' mom and sisters are throwing me another shower and the invitations came in the mail this week! They are super cute with their recipe card motif...LAS' mom requested everyone bring a recipe for me and I'm so excited, because I know those ladies will have some yummy dishes to share!

I'm sure I'll have lots of fun shower pictures to share next Wednesday!

Updates: All our invitations are printed, cut and waiting to be put together; My bridesmaids' gifts are coming right along; ABQ designed and printed our wedding thank yous and I'm obsessed--think LAS and EHK drawn in our fancy wedding day duds with a cameo from Stella; DIY projects still going on, including moss letters, burlap runners and signs for various wedding things

Study Basket!

LAS is taking part 1 of the CPA exam Friday so last week I put together a little study basket to get him through his last week of preparation! I included some of his favorite snacks and my favorite addition has to be the silly putty...I figured it was like one of those stress balls only more fun!

Good luck to LAS, I know he is going to do a great job!! But I know we would appreciate your prayers and well wishes just the same!

We Interrupt Your Regularly Scheduled Programming...

Good Morning!

First thing, the blog is going to undergo some changes this week.  Although my love for monograms remains unchanged, I'm changing the name of the blog to reflect a wider variety of topics and to allow it to grow into whatever it might become.  So, mid-week you're dear Miss Monogram becomes Heavens to Betsy!  That's right, your sweet EHK is really Betsy.  Marina from Penny Lane Designs is implementing a quick change to the header done by ABQ and once that's up the URL will change.

Does anyone know if there is a way to redirect one custom domain to a new one in blogger? I'd like to be able to direct missmonogramblog.com to the new URL so people can follow the switch easily.  I know they will re-direct the blogspot address.  If any of you have renamed your blogs and have tips on a smooth transition I'm all ears!

Be sure and follow me on Twitter to keep up with all the changes! Thanks for being such wonderful readers, I appreciate you all SO much!

Swoon-Worthy Friday: Pumpkins

images courtesy of we heart it.

I think LAS and I might make a trip to the pumpkin patch this weekend and there's nothing quite so lovely as a full field of pumpkins.  Cheers to pumpkin patches and carving a perfectly preppy pumpkin (think I can convince LAS to make monogrammed pumpkins?!).

Wedding Wednesday: Updates!

129 Days until Wedding Day!

Because I'm a crazy person and did massive amounts of planning right after we got engaged the second half of summer and early fall resulted in a bit of a wedding planning lull, because quite honestly, there just wasn't that much to do. But it's now time to get back into full swing!  Here's what I've been working on:
  • My sweet future MIL is stitching our table runners and I got our first batch back from her and they're perfect! I bought a 20 yard bolt of fabric for the rest last weekend, hoping that will be enough for the rest!
  • ABQ is printing our invitations as I type and I could not be more in love with our invitations if I tried....seriously, her work is beyond!
  • We met with our florist last week to finalize the flowers and arrangements for the reception.  I love our florist--she totally gets me and my vision and that makes everything easy peasy.
  • I shared a photo of my shoes here.  And the first pair came in with some spotting, not huge stains but come on, they are my wedding shoes, so they need to be perfectly clean.  The second pair came in and the same thing happened!! I'm giving Nina Shoes, one last shot because I really love the shoe and they aren't expensive and they're a good height and I really want them to work....so Nina Shoes, if you are reading, send a flawless pair of these my way OK?
  • Next up....DIY Moss Letters, ordering my veil, and having monogrammed sashes made for my flower girls!
Happy Wednesday!

Monogrammed Monday: Number Four Eleven

Over the summer when I visited one of my oldest and dearest friends, LAW, in Savannah I had the opportunity to visit the MOST wonderful monogrammed store, Number Four Eleven.  They had gorgeous things and absolutely stunning embroidery.

The store has an adorable storefront and two floors with gifts upstairs and bedding and more linens downstairs.  I had the pleasure of meeting one of the owners, Courtland, while I was visiting and she was so nice and helpful.  Since I have some experience working in a monogrammed gift store, we talked shop and it was fun talking with someone in the business and getting someone else's perspective!

Here's some eye candy from this lovely store:

They have SO many beautiful designs....it would take me days to choose just one!

You can read No. Four Eleven's blog for updates on their latest work!

Happy Monday!

Swoon-Worthy Friday via The Neo-Traditionalist

There's always a lot to swoon over on Katie Armour's blog, The Neo-Traditionalist.  It's become one of my favorite reads and yesterday I stumbled along something that literally made me swoon.  Katie posted photos of Alessandra Branca's Chicago Atelier and the rooms are to. die. for. fabulous.  Take a look for yourself.  (original images via traditional home)

Happy Friday!  LAS has an interview tomorrow morning, so we'd love your prayers, good wishes and fairy dust!  Sunday we are capping off the weekend at a family friend's wedding on 10.10.10 no less!

Hope your weekend is spectacular!

Monogrammed Monday: Gone to the Dogs

So it's a little later than my typical Monogrammed Monday but better late than never right??

Sweet Stella is quite the cutie but poor thing has short hair and misses out on sporting bows like her bffs Lucy and Darcy

Enter Ashley's Boutique on Etsy! Her collars feature grosgrain bows with initials! How fun is that?? Bows and monograms--what more is there to love?? Now only to choose one, that's the hard part!
