Swoon-Worthy Friday: Back to School

Walk into your local Target and I have a feeling you'll be greeted with gorgeous stacks of school supplies.  We are heading into the time of year that really gets to me: fall/back to school.  I love it.  I would love it more if I had a reason to buy the beautiful school supplies and it wasn't 98 degrees, but I digress...

Yoga by Bethenny

If you follow me on twitter, you know I recently acquire this little DVD by our good friend Bethenny:

I really enjoy doing yoga as a workout and this DVD is super fantastic!  The yoga section is 40 minutes, and as Bethenny says in the video, it is a very compact and efficient workout.  Afterwards I feel like I really worked out and I feel very refreshed.  There are two bonus sections, strength training for 10 minutes and booty bonus for 5 min, which admittedly I haven't tried yet but I like the option of switching up the workout, or maybe doing those two as quick bit of exercise when you're pressed for time.

If you like exercise videos, because like me, running seems like something torturous that you would never think to inflict upon yourself, I highly recommend picking up Body by Bethenny!  Namaste.

Monday Musings

Good Morning!

I hope you had a good weekend!  LAS and I had a great weekend registering for beautiful things for our new home!  I have to admit it was a bit more overwhelming than I thought it would be but it was SUPER fun!! We went to two stores and plan on registering at a third store later on.  My favorite item: a bright green kitchen aid mixer!  LAS' favorite: our stove-top popcorn popper like the one my parents have had for ages!  What was your favorite thing you registered for?? What are most glad you registered for now that you're married??

This week we will be booking the caterer--yay!  That's our last major vendor decided.  The music is the last thing: we are deciding between a DJ and going the iPod route.  What did you do for music?

Alright y'all I have to get out the door and off to work--happy Monday!!

Getaway Dress

Previews of J. Crew Weddings Fall 2010 have been circulating all over the blogosphere and this little number looks like the perfect getaway dress!  I fully intend on wearing my wedding gown throughout the reception, but I've always loved the idea of a quick change right before leaving (a la Annie Banks in Father of the Bride)  Did you leave your reception in your wedding gown or did you do a quick change?

Headboards Part Deux

Hi there!

You may remember my headboards post where I promised that one day when LAS and I had our first place together, it would include a monogrammed headboard.  Well now that our first place will be a reality come wedding day, I've been thinking about that headboard.

We are hoping to do our first bit of registering this coming weekend which I am SUPER excited about and I want to have an idea of what the headboard will look like so that we can coordinate the other linens ( I know, I know UBER important things going on here...).

I picked up a few fabric samples yesterday and I'd love to know what you think!  Keep in mind I plan on monogramming the fabric.  And if you've ever embarked on this project before yourself and have any sure-fire tips, I'd L O V E to know!

Have a great Monday!!

Swoon-Worthy Friday: Summer Escape

Doesn't this look like the perfect spot to spend these sweltering summer days?  Looks like the perfect (indoor) getaway to me!

I hope you have a great weekend and my weekend's resolution is to re-commit to posting consistently next week--the wedding is taking up all my creative energy and I'm in a blogging funk but I think there are some good posts coming down the pike, so hang in there with me!

Swoon-Worthy Friday: Wedding Update!

Good Morning and Happy Friday!

Before I jet off to work I thought I'd give you some updates on the wedding.  We have the following things ticked off our list:
  • Date--February 2011
  • Ceremony Venue--Church
  • Reception Venue--A local Farmer's Market building with cool lighting and exposed brick, very charming :)
  • Wedding Dress--mums the word, but there are some oh-so-me details I just adore!
  • Bridesmaids Dresses--a one shouldered Alfred Sung number in Navy
  • Florist--we met yesterday and she totally got my vision--loved her!
We are very close to selecting a photographer and caterer as well and I'm thrilled to have nearly all the vendors in place.   I'm really excited about some of the sweet southern charm details we are discussing for the wedding and I CAN'T WAIT to start working on all the lovely paper with Miss Ashley Brooke!

Wedding question of the week for you readers: What song did you walk down the aisle to??  I want something slightly un-traditional but still appropriate for a church ceremony.

Have a great weekend!
