Fabulous Drug Store Find

Hi Lovelies!

Here is a great find I picked up at Target yesterday: Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer! It's just great--smells yummy, thick without being heavy or greasy anddd it makes your skin seriously soft. I find myself wanting to wash my face during the day so I can moisturize again. If you are looking for a new daily, I highly suggest it :)

Gobble Gobble

I hope all of you had a fabulous Thanksgiving! Ours was excellent--although I feel like its been Thanksgiving week around here.

Sister got home last weekend so we've had lots of fun baking and being silly. Thanksgiving was great, with a nice family dinner and then heading up to the bf's grandparents' farm for more family fun!

Friday at The Primrose Shop was moderately busy and we had fun with our special balloon promotion: make a purchase and pop a balloon to see what gift or discount awaits you inside :)

Check out pictures of all the fun:

To Whom it May Concern

Dear Florida State Seminoles,
I've been on your side for 21 years. Every Saturday I'm with you. Whether I am in the stands or on my couch, I am faithfully watching, cheering you on. Because your losses tend to depress me and make it difficult for me to start my week off on the right foot, I would greatly appreciate it if you could pull it together. You show such promise, play so hard, yet now for the third time this season we all walk away disappointed. Two games to go. Let's make them count.

With love,

Randoms

the lovely Landlocked Mermaid tagged me and ask that I list 7 random things about my day so here it goes....

1. This morning and every morning I take my coffee to go in my black and white monogrammed travel mug
2. I watched the Young & the Restless today in between class and work while eating my lunch
3. I need a new audiobook. I listen to audiobooks religiously because I drive so much and right now i am without--a trip to the library is in my future.
4. I nearly filled my gas tank today on 23.00 worth of gas--what's better than that?
5. After three stressful days this week I am finally accomplishing some things. I spent two hours tonight powering through assignments and contributions to group projects.
6. I officially kicked off my holiday shopping with a couple of small purchases for the bffs.
7. Today marks 32 days until my college graduation! Anyone looking for a young PR professional??

Veteran's Day

I want to acknowledge the importance of today. The day we honor the men and women who have served and are serving in our armed forces. The gratitude I have for the sacrifices of soldiers and their families is something I have trouble articulating ( and friends, I love me some words). So as unoriginal as it may seem I say thank you.

Monogram Monday on a Tuesday

Soooo, things have been crazy and Monogram Monday bled into Tuesday. Check out this great monogramming idea: jeans! These are mine and I love them. Next time I do think I will pick a brighter color but I wanted these to go with lots of things.

(I wanted you to see the full view of the monogram on the pants but I'm decidedly upset at how big this picture makes my butt seem...its deceiving I assure you-haha.)

So goes the election...

After a couple of days, I have had time to collect my thoughts, although I'm still feeling about a million emotions. Like AEG, I will provide you with a list.

1. I am open minded enough to look beyond my disappointment and realize what this election means to America. 14 million more voters voted in this presidential election than in 2004 and a man who 45 years ago could not have walked through the front door at McDonald's is the leader of the free world. It's remarkable. It shows the world you can in fact be whatever you want to be in America.

2. I am closed minded enough to be nervous about our future. 51% of our country just elected a man who has never governed anything. Not a city, a county or a state. He has now run 3 federal campaigns and won only 2. I will be graduating from college in less than six weeks with virtually no job prospects because no one is hiring due to the state of our economy. So I'm wondering how we are going to create jobs when our President Elect wants to tax big businesses and raise capital gains taxes? I wished our fellow countrymen had asked themselves this question: Would you want to be a surgeon's first patient?

3. I'm open minded enough to be hopeful. That's what this guy's all about right? Hope. Here's hoping he's committed to surrounding himself with experienced advisers and reaching across the aisle. Here's hoping he can help rebuild our country and appeal to our allies and enemies overseas. Here's hoping his obvious enthusiasm for America can go beyond enthusiasm and provide results. Here's hoping the Republican party can use this defeat to find sound leadership that will lead them into the future.

Here's to hope.

A Pick Me Up

While I work up the energy to share my thoughts on the election, I thought I'd do my part to lift my spirits and yours with a great find from today.

Today, after getting about 5 hours of sleep last night, hauled my cookies to the Country Club of Orlando for their annual Fa La La event. Local vendors come to sell their wares and club members get time to shop and get a jump start on their Christmas lists!

While I was there I found an artist and designer who is so fabulous! I fell in love with her prints and plan on ordering from her etsy site. Her name is Anne Harwell--check her out! This is the print I'm obsessed with :)

Live Blogging from the SOE

Greetings!

Lots of interesting things happening particularly at UCF. The polls closed at 7 but there are people who were in line at 7 who are still in line. Approximately 4-500 people are still waiting...its gonna be a long night.

Getting super nervous about the presidential race...

Miss Monogram on the front lines

Attention readers!

This time tomorrow I will be at my local Supervisor of Elections office working the room! That's right--being an intern does have its perks. The Orange County Supervisor of Elections office is a client at the agency where I am interning. So tomorrow at 4 I will begin helping the office deal with media and any other PR tasks that fall under my jurisdiction. According to my co-workers there may quite possibly be national and international news media at the SOE tomorrow--look for me on TV! I am SUPER excited to be a part of the process as one can imagine and I will have a full report on Wednesday. Regardless of the outcome, tomorrow's election will surely go down in history as one of the most significant of our time and I get to be there!

Luckily, Muffy did a fantastic post on what to wear to the polls. This is will be my inspiration tomorrow :)

Monogram Monday!

I so love the regular installments my favorite bloggers feature so I have decided to start one of my own. From now on, Monday will be Monogram Monday!! I'll feature cute monogrammed finds and maybe a personal story or two regarding my own monogramming adventures at The Primrose Shop!

This Monday's find comes from Etsy and is for a little one in your life (don't even get me started on how badly I want one of these for myself!). How cute is this?? Talk about being all set for a preppy winter :)

Halloween Costume #2

Because our Friday night bash was being attended by many of the same people we were with on Thursday, I thought it would be fun to switch up the costumes. And after a suggestion from Mumsy, we pretty much went from one end of the spectrum to the other :) We decided to spend Friday night as Luke Duke and Daisy Duke! (This is infinitely cuter when you know that the bf's name is Luke). I had fun being Daisy but I think I prefered being the Cleavers. As many of my friends pointed out, as June, I didn't look that different from any other day--ha!
