Labor Day List

TGIF!! Labor Day weekend is upon us and though I am disappointed I did not receive a ticket to the UCF game this weekend, I have decided to put on my positivity pants and post a list of the 5 things I am excited about this Labor Day weekend :)

1. My little sissy comes home today! That's right, after her first 10 days on her own at college she has graciously decided to come visit us and I am soooo excited to play with her this weekend.

2. Football games. As previously stated I lost in the UCF ticket lottery this week. However, I am a fan of college football in its entirety so my excitement for this kick-off (punny!) weekend has not waned. I look forward to watching from home even if my most beloved Florida State Seminoles are off this week.

3. Time. Three days off with no work and no school! Isn't that what holidays are all about??

4. Chloe and Preston. They are my adorable neighbor babies and I get to babysit them this weekend. They are a TON of fun and I get to make a little extra cash ;)

5. With the exception of my sister's visit I may have saved the best for last....GOSSIP GIRL STARTS MONDAY!! Simply stated, I. Can't. Wait.

Happy Labor Day Lovelys!

Obsessed!

One of my daily reads, Design Sponge, featured a bedroom today I am obsessed with. Those who know me, know I'm a fan of anything green and this paint is no exception:

The Last First Day

Tomorrow is my last first day of school. Sixteen school years in the making and it's here. The last one. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little sad at the passing of this milestone. I like school, I'm good at school. Beyond December lies a world with millions of uncertainties- in order to keep from freaking out, I have to look at them as millions of opportunities ;)

Poor little sister's first weekend at college was more eventful than she had anticipated. Fay dumped water in her room and the grandparents had to come to the rescue. But she's back at the hall and all's well for now :) Check out a pic from our moving adventure:
The Olympics are over. Sad. But the good news is gossip girl is back sept. 1 anddd football season has arrived! The Knights first game is this coming weekend and FSU starts the 6th-I'm so excited :)

xoxo.

I retract my previous statement

For those of you ravaged by Fay's flood waters, I apologize. Tuesday Fay was lame but she has since stuck around and given us quite a week. Hopefully things will be back to normal soon!

Fay...what a disappointment

Spent most of the day inside due to tropical storm Fay and I use the phrase loosely. With all the anticipation that had built up I was hoping for something a little more exciting but it was nothing more than a little wind and rain. I should be thankful I know, but it was a little bit of a let down. Anddddd with little sister trying to leave for college, it has thrown quite the wrench into our plans. Fingers crossed we are leaving tomorrow for Tallahassee and making the big move. I can't believe my baby sister is going off to college, I'm going to miss her so much but I know she is going to have a blasty blast!! And with football season coming up I can't wait to visit :)

It's my last week before heading back to school for my last semester- kind of anxious to get started...

Playing Teacher and Catching Up

Today I got to help Miss Keaton put the finishing touches on her classroom and it was such a treat! I got to use glue sticks and markers and construction paper- I was in heaven. Her classroom is adorable and her kids are so lucky to have her. Take a look a few of my favorite places in the classroom.
I also got to catch up with my bff SLB today!! She just got back from a summer architecture program at Columbia University (smarty pants). I'm so proud of her even if we did miss out on our annual summer visits :( I'm hoping I can make it up to Baltimore over Christmas va-ca. Here's a picture of us from one of our last visits (that's SLB on the right):
I still have not received my September issue of Vogue! Its on newsstands- what in world is taking so longggg?

Couture Grocery Bags and Monogrammed Towels...

So I thought I'd show you some monogramming I did today at work- super cute towels for one of our customers who is off to her freshman year in college! The monograms are nicely centered I assure you even if the photographs aren't ;)

Also pictured are some couture (afterall couture does mean handmade) grocery bags that I made for bff ABD a while ago. I printed photographs of old timey supermarkets and fresh markets on transfer fabric and ironed them on to canvas bags and trimmed the photo with green and white ribbon. The precious cargo in the second photo is her dog Lucy :)

I'm still madly in love with the Olympics and am looking forward to the Women's Gymnastics Individual All-Around. It doesn't start until 11:15- I hope I can stay up for it!

Going to help my friend Deanna decorate her classroom tomorrow- what could be more fun than getting a room ready for 25 kindergarteners??

Sneak Peak

So around this time in August I start anticipating the arrival of my September issue of Vogue. Its usually around 800 pages of beautiful people, beautiful clothes, and beautiful writing and photography. So last night I got online and started googling to see if I could find a sneak peak- and lo and behold I found one. Take a look at the cover:

Monday Means Back to Work!

It was back to work at The Primrose Shop for me today! Lots to do today, checking up on orders and contacting vendors. I called A. Tierney today inquiring about a new product announcement they faxed over and I am super excited about some of the new products they will be debuting at the upcoming Atlanta Apparel Mart and the New York Gift Show: think Gossip Girl type bows, new preppy pendants and an exciting new bangle that has been in the works for quite some time. I'm hoping there are pictures soon!!

I thought I'd share my favorite items we currently have in the shop so take a look at the top 3! (I wanted to include A. Tierney's political preppy pendants supporting Obama and McCain respectively but the pictures didn't turn out-sad.)

1. Bag Tags!! In single letters and various sororities these are so fun and colorful! You can use them to identify your bag in a crowd- put them on your golf bag, suitcase, or gym bag. They also make a great bookmark! As for me I'm thinking of hanging one from my rear view mirror-too cute!
2. Reusable Grocery Bags! I'm all for going green if I can look cute doing it and what a fabulous alternative to paper or plastic! SUPER affordable and made to hold up to 40 lbs!! That's a lot of groceries :)
3. Bella Buckets! These buckets are so great- I'm dying to fill one of these with goodies and give it as a gift!

Contact The Primrose Shop if you are interested in any of the above :)

I'm off to watching more AMAZING coverage of the Olympics- I'm still spent from cheering on the relay team last night ;) GO USA!!

Ah, The Olympics

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Olympics and Team USA is off to a great start. I'm willing to bet it has something to do with the adorable opening ceremony outfits courtesy of Ralph Lauren.

I certainly hope the excellence continues tomorrow night when Women's Gymnastics begins-like every girly girl, its my favorite event :) But I thoroughly enjoyed watching swimming ( Yay Michael Phelps, who is from Baltimore which makes me like him even more) and volleyball today. Take a look at our first two gold medalists:
